In Poltava region citizens’ attendance at local elections in 2015 only 2.2 percent less than last time – in 2010. According to the CEC 569 149 voters have voted, which was about 49 percent. The most active voters – in Chornuhy area (61%) and the lowest interest – in Mirgorod (40%) and Poltava area (41%). It was told by OPORA representatives Darya Cherkashyna and Anna Mosiyenko at a press conference in OKIA “News of Poltava”.

The results on the village head elections in 15 polling stations and 184 village councils are already known. Several local stations “announced a break” until the morning of October 27, in particular in Pyriatyn, Lubny areas and Poltava – said Daria Cherkashina.

Representatives of OPORA believe that violations on the day of elections were not systematic, so the election results won’t be affected. In particular, there were problems due to lack of appropriate level of voting papers’ protection.

“That’s why in Pyryatyn committee members seized over 589 voting papers, because one candidate was not in the list. Therefore, they printed 619 new in Pryluky at the expense of the regional budget. A similar situation occurred in Lubny city Election Commission, which on the eve before the elections found mistakes in the voting papers, because in accordance with the law there was no proper control on voting papers’ printing. Because of the poor training of members of polling station commissions, the rights of official observers were violated. In Velykobahachanskiy area the observer from OPORA was refused to admit a committee meeting – said Daria Cherkashina.

“We have repeatedly documented facts of issuing voting papers to citizens without documents that identifies the person – a passport or a temporary certificate of citizen of Ukraine. In particular such cases registered in Shishatskiy area. Cases of shortage of voting papers and passing them outside the polling station observers registered in the Poltava region, “- added Anna Mosiyenko.

Observers from OPORA denied many facts about the violations reported by candidates.
